From 1 to 5 April, the Iate Clube Armação de Búzios hosts another edition of the Energisa Búzios Sailing Week, bringing together the national ocean-sailing elite. With more than 20 confirmed vessels, the event will feature contests in the ORC, BRA-RGS and RGS-Cruiser classes, consolidating its relevance in the Brazilian calendar.
The ICAB, a traditional developer of athletes and home to important competitions, reinforces its position as a benchmark in the sport. Over the years, Búzios has established itself as one of the main sailing hubs in the country, including a history in international events.
Big names confirmed
The 2026 edition will feature big names such as Torben Grael, Marcelo Ferreira and Samuel Albrecht. Torben, a five-time Olympic medallist, will be aboard the Magia IV: "Búzios hosts one of the great ocean-sailing events in Brazil. It is a setting that brings together tradition, structure and ideal conditions for great contests at sea. The course has its strong winds and clean waters, making a highly competitive race area."
The reigning champion, the Crioula TP52, returns to the competition seeking to repeat its winning performance. The team led by Eduardo Plass will count on Samuel Albrecht as tactician: "In a special year, we will be in Búzios for another edition of a great event, which is a true celebration of Brazilian sailing. The course is spectacular and offers ideal conditions for great sailing, with consistent wind and a very high technical level in the contest."
Programme
The programme begins on 1 April, with the opening ceremony, while the races start on the 2nd and continue until the closing, on the 5th. The competition will feature up to six races and will require at least three for the results to be valid. In addition to the contests at sea, the event also promotes social experiences, such as the Sunset Energisa and the Energisa BBQ, strengthening the integration between athletes, teams and the public during the holiday.
