Technology is changing the way owners, sailors and fleet managers keep track of their vessels. From 2 to 5 July, this shift will be represented at the Marina Itajaí Boat Show by SafeBoat, a Florianópolis company returning to the Santa Catarina nautical show for the second consecutive year.
After taking part in the 2025 edition, the company confirmed its presence again in 2026, reinforcing its strategy of getting closer to boat owners, marinas, shipyards, insurers and nautical fractional-ownership companies.
What is SafeBoat?
SafeBoat is a nautical monitoring and management solution that combines a device installed on the vessel, sensors and a digital platform. Through the app and the control panel, the user can track important information about the boat even when they are not on board.
The idea is to identify changes and possible faults before they turn into bigger problems, giving the owner or the person responsible for the vessel more time to make decisions and call for the necessary assistance. The system can monitor different points of the vessel, including:
- battery level and condition;
- location and movement of the boat;
- departure from a previously defined area;
- movement of the vessel while anchored;
- flooding and fire sensors;
- bilge pump and other critical systems;
- service and maintenance history;
- reminders for inspections;
- documentation and expiry dates.
The information is gathered on the phone or on the digital panel, with alerts and reports sent in real time. The platform also provides weather forecasts and communication tools between community users.
Technology for vessels and fleets
Although the solution can be used by individual owners, the system was also developed to serve operations with several vessels. Marinas, shipyards, nautical sharing companies, insurers and fleet managers can view, on a single panel, which boats show changes in batteries, sensors or other monitored equipment.
This centralised tracking makes it possible to organise maintenance, prioritise service and reduce the period in which a fault can go unnoticed. The technology works as an additional layer of management and prevention, complementing the inspections and maintenance carried out by the professionals responsible for the vessel.
How the service works
The model offered by SafeBoat involves an activation fee and a fixed monthly charge. The equipment is provided on a loan basis, with no need to buy the hardware, and the company's team installs the device and connects the necessary sensors on the vessel. After activation, the user starts tracking the data through the app, receiving alerts related to the monitored systems.
Second year at the Marina Itajaí Boat Show
Its presence for the second consecutive year allows SafeBoat to present the solution directly to an audience made up of owners, professionals, entrepreneurs and investors in the nautical sector. During the event, visitors will be able to get a close look at the connectivity proposal and understand how remote monitoring can contribute to a more predictable management of the vessel.
By returning to the show, SafeBoat puts the spotlight on a trend that is gaining more and more ground in the nautical world: connected boats, able to provide continuous data about how they are running, their location and their maintenance needs. More than tracking where the vessel is, the technology seeks to help the owner know how it is doing even when they are far from the marina.
