The 53rd Ilhabela Daycoval International Sailing Week has already begun taking entries for the 2026 edition, scheduled for the period from 24 July to 1 August, in Ilhabela (SP). Among the first confirmed boats are teams from Argentina and Uruguay, which reinforces the event's international profile.
Organised by the Yacht Club de Ilhabela, with the support of ABVO, CBVela and FEVESP, the competition brings together teams from different Brazilian states and abroad. Entries are open on the official website and remain in the first tier, with a fee of R$ 300 per crew member until 17 May.
The SIVI Daycoval brings together top-level ocean-sailing athletes, including Olympic, world and Pan American champions. For the 2026 edition, the sporting programme will feature the return of the HPE25 class, which joins the ORC, BRA-RGS, RGS-Cruiser, Classics and C30 categories. The calendar also includes contests such as the Super 40 Challenge and the Team Racing Championship.

It is when we bring together the biggest teams, welcome sailors from different countries and show the strength of Brazilian sailing on and off the water. For the club, it is a source of pride to organise an event of this scale, which values the sport, moves the city and contributes directly to the development of sailing in Brazil," highlights the commodore of the YCI, Alex Costa Pereira.
Economic impact and a programme open to the public
In the last edition, the Ilhabela International Sailing Week brought together 120 vessels and around 1,500 sailors, among Olympic athletes, professionals and amateurs. According to the organisers, the 2025 edition moved approximately R$ 50 million in the local economy, with an impact on hotels, guesthouses, bars, restaurants, commerce and service providers.
In addition to the races, the programme includes attractions open to the public. The Race Village, set up in the city centre, works as a meeting point for teams and visitors. The event also features the boat parade in the Vila, as well as talks, shows and environmental education activities.
Race calendar
The programme begins on 24 July, with team accreditation. On the 25th, the Vela do Amanhã Regatta will promote integration between young people from social projects and competitors. The official opening will be on 26 July, with the Boat Parade at the Vila de Ilhabela pier and the first races.
The calendar includes coastal races and windward-leeward regattas. One of the highlights will be the Alcatrazes por Boreste Marinha do Brasil Regatta, with around 55 nautical miles. The Toque-Toque por Boreste Regatta is also part of the programme and extends the contest to other classes. Entries can be made at sivilhabela.com.br.
